drying out slowly

we had girl's 3rd birthday party...

in 1 word or less

RAIN

thank goodness we got a tent!!!!!!!!!!

my kids learn very quickly

for example: when there is a party going on at your house - you can do all things that are forbidden

like get ice cubes & run around with them in your mouth

I saw only Luke's tush for a good part of the day because he was reaching into the cooler to get the delicious forbidden cubes

Skylar seems to be a very good 'clean-up' influence on the girl

Despite the rain - the kids had fun

Luke retained his position as clubhouse bouncer

Adrienne showed up a little later -

so had to play with everything as quickly as possible before the rain returned

it started off nicely

but as soon as the singing began.. so did the tears

and apparently my chimp face

with a nice recovery...

I tried my best to enjoy the day with the girl -

but not without an umbrella

but sometimes -enough is enough

and after everyone left - we opened a few gifts...

and luke could care less.... he just wanted to watch tv

well, we played on the tractor while Dan did the yard work

and while everyone napped -I set up the playdoh playstation

ps. if anyone finds a blue playdoh lid -

we're still searching for it!

then we went to the park!

Anna is sure to push anyone & everyone down the slide as she sees fit

it is very hard to take a picture of Anna at the park -

she's a flash the entire time...

and Luke does his best to try & keep up - and is sure to do EVERYTHING she does

Luke got a bubble machine for Anna's birthday-

to create a diversion from all the wonderful goodies she got...

little did I know -this machine not only makes the best bubbles in the whole wide world - but the most terrifying noise to kids

So while Dan was working - with the super loud tractor.. I waited for Luke to be busy with the slide .. and turned the bubbles on

OFF!!

ps - listen to his little thigh squeek on the slide..

and it doesn't slow him down for a second!

Friday Friday

well.. today is the last day that my girlie is two!!

yikes! where has the time gone?!?!?!

I'll say this - in 3 years I have yet to master having my house organized enough to look nice in a picture.. every picture we have has toy chaos in the background - and a load of laundry awaiting attention

oh well

dinner time.. although Anna may be the girl turning 3 -

Luke is too cool for the booster (that lasted 1 day!)

it all starts off nicely

Luke is VERY excited to play - he even does a 'happy playdoh' dance when its time to continue playing

this one- boy is impatient that the playdoh isn't coming out fast enough.. and despite his begging - Anna gets to hold the entire wad

this one - Anna hands out the play doh to everyone

the entire time the playdoh was out - both my parents stressed the effort involved with removing playdoh from floors...

so Luke felt after he dropped his piece - he should really rub it into the carpet

Thiiiissss is where things start to go downhill

Poppy's 'worm' some how morphs into a cobra

from a cobra-it morphs into a pit viper

and Nanny seems to think the word 'BRAIN' is so trecherous - it needs to be spelled out

here- I try to fix the 'Poisionous Snake' statement by explaining poisonous snakes eat poisionous apples - considering I traumatized her last week by letter her watch Snow White

also - Poppy's pit viper attacks the little boy that Dan made

now, Anna won't go near Poppy

Poppy is ordered to destroy his snake.. so I give him mine

and it attacks Poppy

Girl demands removal of all poisonous creatures - and refuses Poppy's kisses

weekend insanity!

what a busy weekend!

after a late night on Friday

we woke up & got out of the house early on Saturday for Frankie's soccer game

afterwards - Frankie came home with us for a little playtime!

But not after a trip to Wendy's of course!

While Anna rocked

while Luke missed the whole thing

then Miss Stella swung by for a little sandbox time

Sunday morning -

we did a little dancing then took a long walk in the driveway

Luke tends to lag behind a bit

then he caught up when he spotted Anna

.... he spotted Anna napping mid-driveway

so he joined her for a break

After the walk -

boy took a nap while girl sand-boxed

it was hot out - so she took a BUNCH of breaks

to have a drink

to be silly

and just relax

then - over to Nannys to check out their favorite neighbor doggies
