Ventnor 2KX

We finally made it down to invade the Aunie's household!!
and boy did we invade!!!
We started the day off with lots & lots of yogurt & milk

Quick stop at the ever-loved watatowa

it was so so so so humid
(right before the rain started - strange- I know!)
I knew it was condensation - but something about being directly under a dripping water tower gives me chills -
so we quickly skadoodled back home & play as long as possible before the rain started

ended up being a nice evening - so we headed out for pizza!!
eating outside - double yeah!

at the end of the day- this is a very cute picture.
the reality of it is I asked the girl to sit nicely for a minute so I could take a quick pic -
she leaned forwarded -tipped the whole table & umbrella -then fell backwards holding the table (she's sitting on a bench - so it was pretty far back)- bringing the whole thing back, almost on top of her -
and leaned forward again to steady everything
So where it looks like a very cute smile -
it is actually a "WHOA! Did you see THAT!"

Nice mouthful smile

next- over for ice cream!

the kids were SO happy with pizza outside- and ice cream
they were willing to stand nicely for a picture in the sand!

Girl gives me her best Vannah-pose to show me sand

boy just grabs handfuls

sand

yay

yay

girl had quite the chocolate ice cream /sand goatee

home again - this time to assist Uncle Jon in a little dinner prep

and out like lights -
ODDLY ENOUGH - it was their request to sleep in the bed together -
1 condition - I slept in the middle
it was worth not setting up the pack-n-play

TO THE BEACH!
Last year I learned the key to happy kids on the beach -
dig them a big hole - let them play

how to play with sand-hole
JUMP

CLIMB

KICK-BACK

BE MESSY

and finally
FLATTEN OUT THE WHOLE HOLE
(while spreading toys out everywhere)

Happy Swimmer Girl

I have to say -
the children were LOVELY for the 1 1/2 hour wait for the Shammy Sham Shack
(Clam Shack)

and girl could not bear to be refined for one more single solitary second

~Day 2 at the beach~
Boy took over ownership of all beach holes
Girl pouted

Boy would have none of this pouting and threw sand at her
**I took no pictures of boy in the naughty beach chair - but believe me when I say - he was there quite a bit

Soon enough, all is right in the sand-hole-world

2 kids sharing their hole so nicely

Aaaaaaaand there's the kick (back in the chair!)

and now that brother is in the chair -
girl can finally relax!

As soon as the ice cream man walks past - and Uncle Richie buys kids a treat -
all is right again!

Red Face

We left our house on Friday -
by Monday - boy's nails had gotten so long -
he Voldemort'ed his little Harry Potter forehead in the middle of the night
Unreal how much milk these kids drink!

While Nanny & Auntie Fran & Girl ran off to visit Lucy -
boy & I hit the sand for one last time
it was a little bit cloudy - but it didn't matter to boy -
he had his hole in the sand
and I was pleased because we were the ONLY ONES on the beach!

When girl showed up - she brought the sun -
and other beach-goers
and seagulls

Home again
Home again
Jiggety Jig

Boy made it 2 miles on the parkway -
Girl made it until 287, where she put her crown on -and bid me adieu

What the Luke?

For some reason - there seems to be an over-abundance of boy pictures
?
We have always had a good giggle at the boy when he is sleeping.. he is such a rough little boy - its funny to see him snoozing like a sweet precious bean.
I'm guessing the little guy plays hard - and sleeps hard. It is just funny to me to see him in such a silly cartoon position.

Boy has always been one to cover his face when he sleeps. This day -I guess Turtle's flipper was the only thing he could get his mits on.

Speaking of covering his face.....

Boy also has a tendency to wake up STARVING
I guess he couldn't even wait to get to the milk - he had to leave the scoop of Cheerios on the spoon and dive in.
Next, out with daddy for a quick drive.

Just because it is so pretty and you all wish you could have my yard

AND AND AND AND AND!!!!!!
Mark your schedules now for hayride season!!!!!!!!!!
the first of the pumpkins is here!!!!!!!!!!!
NOW! Don't go buggy yet - there is an entire summer ahead of us - where all these lovely beauties can be gobbled up by the monster deer -
and I'm sure the past week of 100+degrees hasn't really been the best for them -
but we're (ME!) hoping!!

Boy is beefing up on his line-drive skills

Can't have a bounce house without a few collisions

Girl has to learn to speed up her turn with the jam session -

boy has a tendency to get VERY IMPATIENT!

...but is pleased when it is finally his turn
