We finally made it down to invade the Aunie's household!!
and boy did we invade!!!
We started the day off with lots & lots of yogurt & milk
Quick stop at the ever-loved watatowa
it was so so so so humid
(right before the rain started - strange- I know!)
I knew it was condensation - but something about being directly under a dripping water tower gives me chills -
so we quickly skadoodled back home & play as long as possible before the rain started
the reality of it is I asked the girl to sit nicely for a minute so I could take a quick pic -
she leaned forwarded -tipped the whole table & umbrella -then fell backwards holding the table (she's sitting on a bench - so it was pretty far back)- bringing the whole thing back, almost on top of her -
and leaned forward again to steady everything
So where it looks like a very cute smile -
it is actually a "WHOA! Did you see THAT!"
they were willing to stand nicely for a picture in the sand!
ODDLY ENOUGH - it was their request to sleep in the bed together -
1 condition - I slept in the middle
it was worth not setting up the pack-n-play
it was worth not setting up the pack-n-play
TO THE BEACH!
Last year I learned the key to happy kids on the beach -
dig them a big hole - let them play
how to play with sand-hole
JUMP
KICK-BACK
and finally
FLATTEN OUT THE WHOLE HOLE
FLATTEN OUT THE WHOLE HOLE
(while spreading toys out everywhere)
Happy Swimmer Girl
the children were LOVELY for the 1 1/2 hour wait for the Shammy Sham Shack
(Clam Shack)
Boy took over ownership of all beach holes
Girl pouted
**I took no pictures of boy in the naughty beach chair - but believe me when I say - he was there quite a bit
and now that brother is in the chair -
girl can finally relax!
all is right again!
by Monday - boy's nails had gotten so long -
he Voldemort'ed his little Harry Potter forehead in the middle of the night
Unreal how much milk these kids drink!
boy & I hit the sand for one last time
it was a little bit cloudy - but it didn't matter to boy -
he had his hole in the sand
and I was pleased because we were the ONLY ONES on the beach!
and other beach-goers
and seagulls
Home again
Home again
Jiggety Jig
Girl made it until 287, where she put her crown on -and bid me adieu
