being Tuesday was the last day of 2008 that I had off - and the kids & I got to play at home all day - I thought a day of torture would be fun...

Anna smashed herself in the face with something

who knows what- some toy...

and needed a little hug-time

I was sure this was to be "the holiday shiner" (it wasn't)

Boy, seeing there was a little snuggling going on -

tried to get a piece of the action

Girl was less than pleased

but after you reassure the masses that there is enough room on your lap for two -

everyone is happy

Flash back to "Holiday Shiner"

yeah - Luke never upsets

Birthday shiner went away just in time for Holiday Shiner to show up

a little pre-holiday lunchtime shenanagins with the new bib Kids giving me a little something extra for Christmas..

Luke's started off as a very stressful nap -

Christmas Party #842 of the season -
Cookie's House.. boy only had 13 melt-downs.. so we tried to keep him as secluded as possible... INSERT CHRISTMAS HERE...

On Christmas eve - the kids wore their special jammies
and I thought it would be nice on Christmas night -
for Luke to wear the Pink Bunny jammies... in honor of Ralphie

as soon as Anna saw them - she wanted them
so instead of a cute jesture..
Luke wore purple sheep jammies
well, I tried


Nice to see after an exciting day full of new toys galore
(scattered on the floor - there's no room for more see: island of misfit toys..)
Luke is still playing with the old ones

12/26 - and the kids open one more present from Cookie

Ahhhhhhh Christmas continues...

Boy created a false night for himself
and my biggest Christmas present -

boy out of the hi-chair - and into the booster seat

YEAH! we're all eating at the table like a family!!

Like a family that doesn't fit at the table -

but a family nonetheless

and the girl hamming it up -

because she's getting Luke's cold - and is very smooshy & loveable

Been a few days..

Anna's been looking forward to this super special moment..

the most important moment of the whole tree!!

(more important than putting NO ORNAMENTS on the entire bottom of the tree...)

I came home from the food store with a super special treat

berries!!
Girl was a little upset when they weren't doritos..

but when she saw what it was - she was happy

ps - boy is a BERRY HOUND

Girl was fully enjoying the family Christmas party...

Yankee Swap is SO entertaining for a 2 yr old

Anna slept late the other day

so Luke & I got a little quality time...

with the cat

and extra time to pet the cat while poor Fred was a captive audience..

we drove up into one of the fields and cut down our christmas tree...

very exciting...

Luke couldn't understand why he wasn't allowed to play with the deer poo

Luke & I had a quiet lunch

raspberries & ravioli

granted -it is a pink fork..

we're hoping Santa brings the boy some blue stuff...

it's hard to get a decent pic with 2 kids at the same time

I feel like I just updated this blog a day ago -

yet I've got 100 days of to-be-added pictures

so - I'll try to keep things in order...

Last night -Anna was having some serious naked time...

Thinking time...

Watching Time...
Reading Time...

The day before, I thought Anna gave herself her first holiday shiner..

so after some snuggling - and a few ice cubes...

things were looking up

Then boy caught wind of the snuggling -

and skooched over for any leftovers..

so I grabbed him and snugged a bit..

a few days earlier -

Anna & Dan stayed home, while Luke & I went to Nanny's house for dinner

they both need a little 'only child' time...

Luke to spaz..

Anna, to hog the couch

both of 'em... When Luke saw the wonder pets for the first time...

he became a zombie..

Santa

I have to say -

this was the best Santa I've seen in ages

didn't pressure the kids

didn't rush anyone

tried to keep hands & people out of the line of the picture...

and still, Anna hated him

At first - Luke wasn't sure...

and if Boy didn't like him -

Girl was not ABOUT to go anywhere near him

The Elf-man tried toys -

but I won Luke over with a cookie

so we all got in the picture -

and Anna STILL wanted nothing to do with Santa

so - I had to hold her...

Look how nicely Santa tries to lower Luke's ever-flalling arms

and Dan doesn't even try to help poor Santa

by this time -

we were doneWell, Dan was anyway

So Santa asked Girl if she wanted anything special..

blah blah blah

she wouldn't make eye contact with him

and boy was still working on his cookie

so you can see how many heads were involved in keeping this one kid happy -

by now - Anna was already outside

These are Luke's sleeping noises...

We'll be in the car - and Anna will tell me "Mommy -Lukie is making sleepy noises..'

and it goes on for a bit.. and it is every breath he takes...

in AHHHHH out AHHHH in AHHHHHH out AHHHHH

but my favorite is his little vampire attack when the sun hits him
