Anna & I went on a Steve Zizzu-esque adventure and discovered an entirely new breed of petrified goldfish that were schooling under our kitchen table...

some were of the pretzel breed - while others looked like the could have been chedder decendents..

either way - she was happy

and the fact that she didn't eat any of them - made me happy

So for the big birthday dinner - we dropped everyone off at Nanny's house and went out to eat
I texted my mother half way through dinner to see how everything was going (because there was much cake & M&M consumption before we left ....)
this is what I got back -
while Poppy tourtures Luke - Anna beats on Poppy
seems like fair game
And the morning after is always rough...
while Luke wakes up bright eyed & bushy tailed -
Anna passes out whenever you put her down

Long Weekend.....

Not that this was a holiday weekend...

but it just seems like this weekend was 12 days long

Friday night was a thousand years ago!!

Friday -we got to hang out with Abby while her mummy had to go out -

Although terrifying... it went shockingly well...

exhausting - but well!

the last thing apples see....

there is quite the bump on the boy's gums

so we're expecting the tooth to make an appearance any day now...

the constant chewing on EVERYTHING will hopefully slow down a bit too..

realized this weekend that the girl still fits/enjoys a good swing

after a few minutes in the swing - she told me "Anna's getting tired now."

..hmmmm food for thought...

Anna had a bath - and then a nap

and when she woke up - she had gigantic hair...

she was very pleased with it!

SO

Sunday was Auntie Denise's party -

it was Frankie's birthday - and Anthony's graduation...

we could not peel Anna off the trampoline for anything...

Almost the weekend.......

I looked in the backseat the other day -
and it just struck me how grown up the girl is getting.
she gets in the car - slips on her shades - kicks her shoes off - puts the pillow behind her head
and strikes such an obnoxious teenager pose that I don't know what else to do besides take a picture....

but then I have to remember that she's still my little girl - and Dan catching some lightening bugs is just the coolest thing in the world to her......

Here- she was at Nanny's and found an itsy bitsy shirt that she used to wear.... and insisted on wearing it

Thursday was my day off - and both kids were ready to go nice & early

first thing in the morning -

Luke was in hummingbird speed already

then we went to the park...

then Nanny & Poppy brought the sand over!!
Uncle Jon got the Nan a sandbox for the big numero dos..
and we finally filled it yesterday
she still refuses to put her feet in it - ...I don't mind - it minimizes the mess... but she love love loves it!

Father's Day and then some.....

It starts off on Saturday - when everyone is in naughty mode

Sunday Morning - we had to go to Hailey's Baptism...

The party dress was just TOO delicious not to document

After the party -

Daddy & Anna had a little quality time while Luke & I hit up the second half of the party

They worked the wagon

While we were at the second half of the shindig...

we got a few choice shots to continue the Hailey & Luke Chronicles..

It must be said.. as the size-gap closes between Anna and Luke..

poor Hailey is being left in the dust

NOTE: kids went the the doctor last week

stats:

ANNA 34 inches / 25 lbs

LUKE 29 inchrd / 23 lbs 12 oz

Either way - Luke looks like he is about to gobble Hailey up -

and although you can't tell in the pictures -

There was a mother's hand interfereing in this picture -

only because Luke was trying to grab Hailey like she was a bowling ball..

I don't know for sure - but I'm thinking there is a def spark...

I try to justify his size here by saying Luke is closer to the camera..

so he looks bigger...

Yeah no.. he's just that much bigger than she is

and after an afternoon of flirting..

he was asleep before we were out of the driveway..

he even slept thru a diaper change
Then Father's Day was wrapped up with some monster steaks..
I put the bottle in the picture for scale..
2 steaks... 5 1/2 lbs
they were monsters - and Dan smiled
After a day as exciting and tiring as Father's Day -
you can't expect anyone to sleep
we started moving around 6am - but everyone was in our bed far earlier than that...

Luke's getting to be quite the sitter...
granted.. he has a big marshmallow butt to keep his balance - its still a fun & very cute landmark..this video is from Saturday afternoon..

You've heard of Lazy Sunday -
this is Hot Monday

a very busy weekend that's totally out of order

ok - I thought there was a chance these pictures would be somewhat in order -

but they're not..

well they are - but the order is backwards -

so! Sunday first - moving down to Friday

Sunday was a double kid party -

Luke christened in the am -

Birthday party in the pm

party itself was double duty

After being baptised - Luke was pooped

On the way to the church -

the girl thought she was hot stuff

Nanner came downstairs and was sitting on my lap and I said "Lets take a Birthday Party Morning Picture"
she was so excited - and made a beaut of a face right as I snapped the picture...

Saturday there was a LOT of running around to be done

SO! dropped everyone off a Nanny's house - and was on my way..

when I came to pick them up - Nana has JUST filled up the pool -
so I couldn't deny them a cool dip on an 800 degree day

Saturday Morning -

look at the upset faces when they find out they're not going to be sitting in a hot car with me running around to all the different foodstores

Friday Evening

the ACTUAL birthday - hence the crown...

for the first time - Anna was talking to me - and mid-sentence - a bubble came out of her mouth...

she really doesn't get not to suck on the bubble wand

but at least she understands that the bubbles taste really bad.... We were going to go out for a special birthday lunch..

but it ended up being take out

Luke didn't make it too far either
Opening presents...

we keep trying to push the "Luke is your present" but she's not buying it

got her a jumpy-inflatable-disk-kiddy-trampoline thing...

and she is quite the smitten kitten
