Hayride

we went on a hayride/ pumpkin patch / apple picking extravaganza...

and knowing how late these are all finally posted - please understand the scarce captions...

fall shenanagins

it has just dawned on me how unbelievably far behind I've fallen with this blog.

can you take a guess what the new year's resolution will be this year???!?!

Pumpkin Parties usually start with one thing..

quick stop off to try on some costumes..

didn't really love the masks (because she's beautiful)

but she was quicte smitten with this one..

and with this year's discovery of the woopie cusion -

but just NEEDED to try this one on!

in preperation for the pumpkin party -

we made some jack skellington cupcakes - all credit goes to Mrs. Billows of course -

but they were beautiful!

and with zero outside influence - my mom made THE BEST gingerbread man / choco-skeleton cookies I've ever run into!

party time...

I didn't so much like this pic of myself - but I did LOVE the girl dressed like a pimp giving orders to one of the kids behind us..

happy pumpkin boy

being late seems to be the norm with EVERYTHING I do

(this blog not excluded)

so by the time we got around to bobbing for apples- it was pitch black outside

so we did it inside!

it was short lived when the kids discovered throwing an apple back into the water cause a gigantic splash...

..This Year..

BOY'S FIRST OFFICIAL DAY OF SCHOOL

well - the boy was ready!! Test run the day before went FANTASTIC and he was ready to take on preschool mom-less.

Now if we can just get him to take a normal picture...

not too shabby

Boy couldn't WAIT. totally ran into school.

AND!!

Lucky for him - first day was 'Bring your favorite buddy to school' day.

So Moose got to take the trip with him.

FIRST DAY BABY!!

So that pic was either 'FIRST DAY!' or "I have to take a #1.. lets run to the bathroom"
quick hand-wash and we're back!!

Next to go into the classroom - and he's still a happy happy happy boy with moose in tow!!

and a quick peek in the room, who was his first friend? did he cry? was he upset? was he playing with something new? maybe being nice to the kid that was crying? laughing? anything?

He went directly to the playdoh, mouth-open, zombie boy.
he's happy

and I have 3 1/2 hours to do whatever I want

BOY'S FIRST-ish DAY OF SCHOOL

Boy's first day of school (not his OFFICIAL first day - it was the open house day and I got to go with him & touch all the toys too) was girl's second day of school.

She was SO the pro now, she was totally ready to pose for any picture.

Boy, on the other hand, was not.

"Yeah Ma, I think I'll start heading in now.. Its cool"

Who is he kidding, he ran!! He was SO EXCITED to finally go to the school where his sister went last year, even spiderman could not have webbed the kid away from the door.

Holy Mother of Pearl - they have play-doh

and trains!

and the next thing he waited for an entire year to do - RUN IN CIRCLES OUTSIDE THE SCHOOLS... just like the big kids did last year.

and when he got home... he got to swing like a big kid too

GIRL'S FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL!!!!

After much waiting & anxiety... Girl finally went to school!!! She was so excited - picked out her special outfit, picked out special buttons to jazz up the new backpack, perfectly coordinated hairdo.

THE BIG DAY WAS FINALLY HERE!

had to sneak the brother into the picture too

anxiously waiting for the bus!!!

HERE IT IS!!!!!!!

and just like that, in the blink of an eye, my baby is a kindergartener

and I'm very proud to say that, although I followed the bus the entire way, I did not pull into the school.

and what happens when a girl goes to school??!

I bring a boy to the A&P to get a banana, of course!

Boy was less than pleased to be without his sister for the entire day

Soon enough, it is 4 o'clock & time to get the girlie off the bus.

YAY!!

she looks older, doesn't she!

The girl wasn't all that excited when we sat down & sang 'Happy First Day To You!' to her.. never enjoying the cake-songs, she was sure to let me know she wouldn't be smiling for any pictures this afternoon.

it was a fabulous cake though...
