Weekend on the cob

The weekend started off with reading a few bedtime stories

.......to the cat

Then Dan & I went to a wedding -

and the kids spent their first night away from home

at NANNY & POPPY's house

it went FAR too smoothly... (too smooth to not do it again!)

and I was welcomed home with the biggest grin you could imagine!

then we stopped off at the A&P

and Luke showed me he knows how to take his shoes off in the car

but he is ALWAYS happy to go to the store
(notice two big chompers up top! - #8 came in this weekend too!) Anna was sure to clairfy for me that she didn't want beef on the cob
she wanted CORN on the cob

and with all those teeth
Luke got some too

then he took over complete ownership of the corn

and then they passed out on the way home

Skills, Kite Skills and the Vacation

Anna has learned to zone out

Dan's been searching high & wide for a kite

He found one - but there was no wind

Anna was just super pleased we let her run around in the back yard

and Dan brush-hogged it especially for the occasion. one more

We went on vacation to Auntie Fran's house -

and Anna had an especially healthy breakfast -

and she ate it with a lobster knife

SO BIG

OK - most important -

the MOST PERFECT SO BIG EVER!

Frankie hung out with us for the day

and he wore EVERYONE out

start the day with a little bananatime

and Anna was FINALLY being nice to Mr. Luke and to follow up the best SO BIG -

we have the world's crappiest watermelon

Log Cabin

Started Thursday morning like any other...

playing .. and teaching Luke how to work all the toys...

BUT THEN!

Scott & Lori made a log-cabin donation to our ever filling lawn 'o toys

Needless to say - the girl was VERY HAPPYonce it was in place - she was quite pleased to sit back and relax in her new digs...

and the first thing she said (demanded) was

Daddy - come inside and make dinner

and having a new toy that she's so smitten with
of course
will bring a little controversy
i.e. mine
all in all - the girl was very very happy with her new toy but -true to form
as soon as you fall in love with the outside toy -
it rains
so she did the next best thing..
came inside & had a bath
