Wet Hot American Summer...

You can't deny the hot summer days are here -
and what better way to cool off?
Why, playing in the 20degree hose water, of course!
Playing in the pool at nanny's house -
can you tell the water is a little bit chilly?

There is a scene from an afterschool special starring a young Molly Shannon - that shows us the trials of a young girl in catholic school - that will best depict the way I feel about this situation.
(well - not afterschool special -but I needed to add to the Mary-Kathrine of it all..)
"There are two ways to get into the water. First you take your toe and you gently test the water's temperature, and if that feels okay, then you slowly get in, letting your body adjust to the cold. Then there's this way- you JUMP! Hi, that's me, Mary Katherine Gallagher, it's nice to meet you."
that's my boy

Moving on home to use the Slip-n-Slide

while boy warmed up on the hot plastic sheet in preparation for the freezing icy water -
Girl let me know - she truly is a badass - and only babies need to warm up

the kids don't really understand the run, jump, slide concept-

so they got a little help from Dan -
with a severe tush-push

boy prep

boy push

girl push

boy falls

boy splashes!

and boy falls

girl splashes!!
and boy falls

girl got pushed so hard she flew off the end of the slip-n-slide!

and boy falls!
(can you tell where I'm going with this one?)

boy slashes!!!

girl splashes!

boy big splashes!
and girl flies off the end of the slip-n-slide & her feet flip backwards over the top of her head & hit the ground in front of her

when everyone was dried & clean -they took a break in the neighbor's front yard

So we decided to play with the bounce ring

Girl Gym Class Recital

Girl was quite pleased to be the first out ..

Ride the pony..

Boy waited sooooo nicely until he realized he was allowed to romp!

Loking at these pictures -

the song pops into my head
"Anything you can do I can do better!
I can do anything better than you!"

I don't know if this is sister defense,
a little bit of the Zax,
or just boy wanting to play.
You must admit - he sizes up quite well with the 4 year olds....

group photo
(by the looks of it - the 4 year old's 9:15am class wasn't the most popular)

final song

final stamps

Boy Gym Class Recital

Boy's Gym Class Recital!
these are all pretty self explanatory

Girl was just TOO PLEASED to finally be allowed into boy's class
she really thrived doing the little-guy activities!

Boy was first in line when it was time to get into a group
what a crazy group of 2& 3 year olds
Miss Kelly is going straight to heaven!
and right to daddy!
the last song
and back to Nanny's house for a fun-alien-fingers-snack
