Hot Fun in the Hot Sun

Tuesday, boy needed a nap especially early -

so girl & I had some especially special outside time!

I found as many water-holding-devices as humanly possible-

filled them with water-

and let her go crazy!

I don't know if she was happy because of the weather

happy because of the sleeping-brother-factor
happy because of the water-on-everything-factor

but girl was HAPPY

next - I gave the girl food coloring & water in a cup
and told her she could paint ANYTHING SHE WANTED
happy x2

even after Luke woke up -

AND touched her toys -

she had a very strong "Tra La La" about her..


Alex showed up to play -

and girl was STILL happy

a good side-by-side to see that boy is really gaining on her in the height department


Alex had a burger

then...

Anna got naked & carjacked the quad from poor Alex

we had a partially naked picnic

doodles everywhere

we even got Alex naked!

AND a mohawk

and after a long day of kids

I will agree -

a spoonful of sugar DOES help the medicine go down

who said too cold?!?!

well, we turned our heads - and the freezing weather turned into UNBEARABLE HEAT!

We had to run to Nanny's house early Saturday morning.. so I quickly fed the kids breakfast and we were ON OUR WAY!

sloppy breakfast- but breakfast nonetheless

of course - no one believes that I am able to feed my children properly

so we arrived at Nanny's house

and they had breakfast again

we had a little outside time

then came home!

why they want to run with me -

but relax with Daddy?

doesn't seem fair on a hot day

Anna wears shorts - and is very concerned about panties showing

but sitting on the hammock in a dress-

doesn't seem to mind the dress up to her armpits

? who knows?

before we hit up Polar Cub-

we had some rough & tumble sandbox time


and on the way there -

Anna passed out

when we got home - boy played

and girl continued being girl

we changed the battery in Luke's Quad...

it's got a little TOO MUCH oomf now...

but Anna loves it!

we tried to play outside...

Anna wasn't having anything to do with outdoors playing yesterday - she was yelling at me "MOMMY! I'M FREEZING!"

so -we stayed in

Nanny showed up to take her to the ever-famous WalMart..

so we took Lukey out for a little playing

the 3 of us hopped on the tractor and went for a spin

I guess Dan wasn't going fast enough...

so Luke worked the throttle by himself

We came inside - and Luke somehow spotted a lollypop on the counter
so I figured - girl was out.. why not

"Nice try Mommy- gimme the lollypop back"

this was right before I got yelled at...

so we spent some quality time in front of the tv

Mary Poppins of course!

Luke quickly got bored with MP

this is the new noise that Luke has been making lately

Luke is a raspberry HOUND

but- there is nothing more delicious than a lollypop

as long as boy is holding the pop-he's good...

he'll eat fruit all day- but he still needs to HOLD the pop

just needs a little suggestion as to what he should be eating

The Outsideathon

well this weekend was

FAN - TAS - TIC

and we were sure to be outside as much as possible!

started off on Friday when I found a deer-a-thon as soon as we pulled into the driveway -

I took a picture - not realizing you really can't see the deer

Wanted the kids to see the deer - and this is what was in the back seat...

Saturday was busy - so Sunday was our day to play

Girl was quite pleased to have barefeet!
