Halloween!!!!!!!!!!

Yes yes yes, I know I'm a little bit late...
Halloween had a little bit of an iffy start...

girl wasn't so sure she wanted to go to school in her costume for the big Halloween Party / Parade.

but the second she caught a glimpse of how darned cute she looked in that outfit-
she was singing a different tune!
I'll be the first to say I didn't get the best parade photos -
not great - but not so bad

After Thursday's Party/Parade..
the Dorothy & the Cat in the Hat came to my office to pay my a visit..
The Cat - as cats often do - tried to hide behind the filing cabinet when he was feeling a little shy & overwhelmed.
Dorothy, on the other hand, was ready to ham it up for the cameras!

Next, carved pumpkins for the the birthday shenanagins up at the main house

one scary

one happy

and boy making his best jack o'lantern face

then a quick sneak over to nanny & poppy's house for a little mischief night tomfoolery
(the kids couldn't be more pleased)

I know these pictures are really dark - but the kids were SO PROUD of their work!!!
It really kicked off a naughty tone to the whole holiday -
I don't think Ive ever seen too kids more pleased with their hard work
I even saw Dan crack a smile..

AND THEN THE DAY WAS HERE!
Girl was SO EXCITED
she posed SO nicely everytime we asked

the incredible hulk just wasn't feeling it
and yes - the cat in the hat was left behind -and the hulk emerged..
in an attempt to be more manly & tough guy -it was all wasted when the manly hulk sat on the floor and pouted because he didn't want his picture taken

and then trick-r-treating
the pout remained...
but only until he woke up a little bit.. he was a sleepy hulk..
Girl, on the other hand, was sure to RUN from house to house because we forgot her sweater at home.......

and this was the face we got when we DARED ask him to say the dreaded words..
"trick or treat"

back to Nanny & Poppy's house to count the loot

and on to a little bobbing
the Boy Bob
the Girl Bob
the Daddy Bob

the rarely seen Double Bob

Poppy Bob

and this one..
I believe the phrase goes something like "Payback is a bitch"
Nanny & Poppy needed a little redemption after their yard got TP'ed
so how better - than to scare babies

Happy Birthday Fred

Well, it's that time of year again -
cat birthday party time!
As far as Fred's birthday - we're not positive..
its somewhere around the first weekend we remember in October...
sooooo....
While we were at the foodstore on Sunday - we were sure to pick up a tasty can of Jack Mackerel for my first born.

gagorama

we .. of course... tortured the poor boy by singing "Happy Birthday" to him..
making him not only wait - but dance for his treats

meow

No holiday-cat-meal is complete without a child lifting him up by his neck to pose for a picture

Proper way to carry a sword

my little samari

Holiday Weapons

Only a grandmother would buy the kids weapons in honor of Halloween.
Nanny bought each kid a sword in honor of this festive month- and honestly, the only thing cuter would be if she bought them each their first shotgun.

I figured I was being one of those dull moms - that won't allow their toddlers to play with weapons.. so I reluctantly brought them out of the trunk warning both kids that the first time I heard complaining- or saw sword- related tears- they would go directly in the garbage.
They agreed and quite frankly, I've never seen them get along better. The ever present threat of toy-distruction has created a tight sibling bond.

Granted, boy will wallop the girl on the noggin & she promptly falls on the ground crying- but she promises the crying was due to the fall- not the hit.
Whatevs.
Either way- they're both convinced they've become either Peter Pan or Captain Hook- beating the crap out of each other - happy as clams.

If you hit me- they're garbage

Touche!

they'll battle anywhere

Ladybird

Poor girl was parked on the couch today- her first official sickday from school.
I wish she was playing hookie. I had a view of her tush & left ear all day.

Poor Girl

Girl's looking healthy and happy NOT.
At 4 years old she has begun to lie about how she feels "Mommy- I'm all better!"
Oh yeah- 102 degress begs to differ little girl...

Boykid

Poor boy was trapped in the house with a sick sister- and a psycho mother- so nanny came on a rescue mission and swept him away.

Cozycat

Fred & Dan have been getting very comfy with each other. Fred isn't happy until has has some part of Dan straddled.
